It is the trusted way for you to lock-in when you discovered content online. The only place to prove you saw it first.

What can I Youp?

Currently we are only allowing users to Youp videos from Youtube but we will be quickly expanding that.

What is the Youped Score?

The Youped Score is a number that is generated based on your ability to Youp content before it goes viral. It factors in when you discovered a video and what the metrics are of the video currently. It then factors in the above information for all of the Youps that you selected “Add this to my Youped Score” and gives you your Youped Score.

How do I get a good Youped Score?

Your Youped score is automatically generated based on a wide range of factors that are kept confidential. The point of the Youped score is to give a numerical representation of how good you are at discovering content online as close to that content's beginning as possible. While we won't tell you what all the factors are, there are some basic points to keep in mind when trying to get a good score:

Try to Youp videos with low view counts that you think are going to be popular. The closer you are to 0 the better.

Don't only go after one channel on Youtube, diversify your Youps. (Don't just Youp Failblog videos.)

Try and Youp videos as soon as they go up. If you Youp something soon after it was posted it will help you. (Youping things from 2006 aren't going to give you a big bang for your buck... unless the view count is low and shoots up after you Youp it)

Don't just re-Youp what others have Youped. There is definitely incentive to being one of the first ones to Youp something.

Discover popular content from previously unknown Youtube users. If you Youp a viral hit from an unknown Youtube user (particularly before it becomes a viral hit) you will be generously rewarded.

What if I don’t want a video to count to my Youped Score?

Simply un-select the “Add this to my Youped Score” box in the uploader when you are Youping.

How to I share something someone else Youped?

We are working on making it easier to share your Youps. For now feel free to copy and paste the url of any piece of content on the site onto your social network and it will automatically display the video contained on that page.
